Competency
For bouldering, climbers have to watch a video as part of the safety briefing. This video is captioned. For roped climbing, climbers will undergoing a competency assessment comprising of questions, a picture test and/or a physical demonstration

There is a car park. It can be busy at peak times as it is shared with other businesses nearby. There is one designated accessible bay immediately outside the building. There is an additional overflow car park which is only accessible via a set of stairs or a steep car ramp that is not designed for pedestrians.

The nearest bus stop is a 10 - 15 minute walk away on Basingstoke Road. Reading train station is a 20 - 25 minute walk.

Layout & Access
There is a step into the building, but a portable ramp can be provided if needed. The main door is manual and quite heavy but it is often propped open. Staff are happy to support with opening the door.
On the ground floor there are the top rope, lead, autobelay and a bouldering wall. There is also a cafe and seating area and accessible toilet. The accessible toilet has a baby changing table inside but does not have a changing bench inside.
On the first floor there is another bouldering area, gym, training area, hangboards, training boards and the male and female toilets. The male and female toilets have changing benches inside them.
There is no lift between the floors.
Music
The centre always has background music playing but they will turn it down or off if requested at any time.

Peak times are evening weekdays from 6pm and weekends 12pm - 5pm.
There are downclimbs in the bouldering area, but these do not go to the floor.
They offer NICAS for 7 - 18 yrs old including NICAS Ascend.
They can also offer hoist sessions on request and accommodate 1:1 sessions.
Route setting happens Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm.
Some staff members have specific experience of adaptive / hoist climbing, sight guiding and seated belaying. Some staff members have undertaken disability inclusion workshops delivered by Access Sport.
The cafe serves hot food at weekends and from 5 - 8pm during the week
