Public Transport Links

Brushworks Climbing is centrally located just north of the city centre and close to the East End and Merchant City areas. 

The site is easily reached by bus, train, subway, bike, or on foot. There are multiple bus services stop within a few minutes’ walk on Alexandra Parade, Castle Street, and High Street. Frequent routes include 38, 57, 2, and 60A, operated by First Bus. Glasgow's largest bus station Buchanan Street is only a 10 minute walk from the centre. 

The nearest train stations are High Street Station (approx. 10 minutes’ walk) and Barnhill Station (approx. 12 minutes’ walk).  Buchanan Street Subway Station is around 15 minutes’ walk or a short bus ride away, offering quick links across the city via Glasgow’s underground network. 

The area around Brushworks is cycle-friendly, with marked routes from the city centre. Secure bike parking is available on-site.

Layout & Access

The main entrance is step-free and level from the street, allowing easy access for wheelchairs, prams, and anyone with limited mobility. Entry doors are manual push doors with wide openings suitable for wheelchair access. Staff are always happy to assist if required

Main Bouldering Area -The heart of Brushworks ground floor is a spacious bouldering hall featuring a full range of angles and wall styles — from slabs and vertical walls to steep overhangs and comp-style features with a clean and open layout that ensures clear fall zones and comfortable circulation. Opposite reception can be found the kilter and wooden training boards.  

Gym - Adjacent to the main wall is an enclosed climbing focused gym equipped with hangboards, pull-up bars, free weights, squat racks, treadmill, rowing machine, exercise bikes and cable machines. It also features a yoga studio — everything needed for warm-ups, conditioning, or dedicated strength sessions.  

Reception & Retail Area -The ground floor entrance area includes a friendly reception desk and small retail section offering climbing essentials such as chalk, brushes, tape and skin care products. Staff are always available to offer advice, check users in, and provide induction guidance for new climbers.

Café & Social Space Upstairs - Brushworks features a bright and relaxed café overlooking the climbing area. Serving locally roasted coffee, fresh pastries, and light food, it’s a welcoming space to unwind, study, or catch up with friends. The café also hosts occasional social events and community evenings. This can be accessed by lift.

Toilets, Changing & Shower Facilities - Clean and practical changing areas include lockers, toilets, and showers for customer use. Facilities are maintained to a high standard with regular cleaning throughout the day and are found on the ground floor.

Anything Else...

Brushworks aim to make climbing as inclusive as possible. They have downclimbs within close reach to get back on to ground level.  Routesetting is done on Mondays and Wednesday between the hours of 07:00 and 18:00. Peak times are between 18:00-21:00 during the week.
